About Traveling Captain Photography

Traveling Captain Photography began with two things that have shaped my life: flying and photography.

As an airline pilot, I spend much of my working life moving between cities around the world. I started this gallery as a way to share what I find when I step away from the airport, take my camera with me and explore. Many of these photographs begin on layovers or during the quiet hours before a city fully wakes.

Photography started much earlier for me. Growing up, my mom would hand me her camera and let me experiment. She taught me to look for the things that make a photograph work — light, composition and the small details that make a scene worth remembering. I still carry those lessons with me every time I travel.

What I am most drawn to is the relationship between the natural world and the places people build. Gardens beneath futuristic structures, wildlife moving through city parks, old monuments framed by modern skylines — those moments of coexistence are at the center of my work.

Every image in this shop is selected because I believe it can live beyond the trip where it was captured. The prints are made to order in carefully chosen sizes and finishes so the photograph can become part of your own space.
