Wheel of Stars came together in a moment I could not recreate. I handheld an eight-second exposure as the illuminated wheel cut through the night, and almost immediately after the shutter closed, the lights switched off.
There was no second attempt. That combination of timing, motion and chance is what made this image one of my favorites from the trip.
